ZOZOBRA III

An online juried exhibition and publication from Suture Zone inviting politically and socially engaged artwork confronting fascism, totalitarianism, threats to democracy, and environmental destruction. Selected artists receive an individual profile page, publication placement, and online promotion.

Confronting fascism in the 21st century, including threats to democracy, totalitarianism, political corruption, and environmental destruction.

Open worldwide to emerging or established artists age 18 or older who can communicate in English. Artists may submit 1–2 works per submission and make up to three submissions. Eligible media include painting, drawing, photography, digital art, mixed media, video, sculpture, print work, and collage; AI-generated work, AI derivatives, and larger works containing any AI component are excluded. The page contains conflicting fee terms: one section states $30 USD for two images, another states $35 CAD for two images, while the terms state entry is free but selected artists must pay a nonrefundable $35 CAD participation fee per submission. File instructions also conflict: the submission summary permits JPG, MOV, MP3, MP4, and PNG up to 50MB, while detailed image instructions require one frontal view per image, JPG format, no more than 6MB, specified filename formatting, and no frames, mats, backgrounds, watermarks, glare, or blur; a separate attachment provision states a 10MB limit and accepts TTF, PNG, JPG, and JPEG. Applicants must provide a first-person artist biography of no more than 150 words and an artist message of no more than 150 words. Submitted artwork must be original. Selected work must remain for the full exhibition. Selected artists grant Suture Zone rights to display and use images for publication, promotion, marketing, newsletters, press releases, its website, social media, and future calls, while artists retain copyright. Submission adds artists to Suture Zone's email list, with an option to unsubscribe.
