Open Calls for Art
THIRDPLAT: SOMETHING NEW — October 2026 Open Call
Hosted by THRIDPLAT
Remote
The opportunity
Thirdplat invites creators worldwide to submit work for SOMETHING NEW, its October 2026 online exhibition and archive. The theme explores a new presence in an artist's life, community or practice, what it changed and what it left behind. Moving image, photography, writing, craft, sound, performance and cross-disciplinary practices are welcome. This is an open publishing platform rather than a juried competition: original, respectful submissions are published directly, subject to content guidelines. Entry is free.
About this call
SOMETHING NEW: when something new enters our lives, what does it change?
Requirements
Creators from around the world may apply. Submit 1–3 pieces; only one entry per artist. Maximum file size is 50MB per image; accepted file types are JPG, MOV, MP4, PNG and TIFF. Prepare the artwork title and year of creation, a short summary describing the work and its relationship to SOMETHING NEW, a cover image and relevant artwork files or links, and artist information. Applications are completed on the Thirdplat website: create a free Thirdplat account or sign in, complete the submission form and review the information before submitting. Submissions are published directly as part of the October online exhibition, rather than judged in a competition. Submit only original work for which you hold the necessary rights and permissions. Work must be respectful and suitable for public presentation. Thirdplat may remove work that infringes copyright, contains unlawful material or violates its content guidelines. Eligible practices include moving image, photography, writing, craft, sound, performance and cross-disciplinary practices. Responses to the theme may be personal, social, documentary, fictional or experimental.
