THE REVUE

The Spectacle accepts writing for THE REVUE through two categories: ENCOUNTER, for encounters with books, visual art, film, music, theater, dance, clothing, furniture, buildings and other subjects, including reviews; and EPHEMERA, for flash fiction, clusters of mini-stories, hybrid essays and unconventional creative or critical writing.

Send only one submission at a time; do not submit to multiple categories at once. Indicate the category in the Title field and include a brief cover note in the Cover Letter field. Submit only one document per submission. If the work is accepted elsewhere, withdraw the submission immediately via Submittable. For a partial withdrawal, add a note to the submission rather than emailing. ENCOUNTER accepts encounters with books, visual art, film, music, theater, dance, clothing, furniture, buildings, etc., and reviews of those encounters. EPHEMERA accepts flash fiction, clusters of mini-stories, hybrid essays, notes outside conventional creative or critical categories, strange juxtapositions, historical coincidences, etymologies, recipes, witchery and other hard-to-place writing.
