The 34th International Online Exhibition

PAPAT’s 34th International Online Exhibition is a juried, online-only exhibition for dry-pastel artwork, running December 1, 2026 through March 3, 2027. Conditional awards are First Place ($1,000), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), and five Awards of Excellence ($100 each), paid in USD.

Applicants must be pastel artists age 18 or older and attest that they fully own the copyright to submitted works. Work must use dry pastel; oil pastel is prohibited, mixed-media work must be predominantly dry pastel, and at least 80% of the painting’s top layer must be dry-applied pastel. Work must be original, based on the artist’s own reference, and not copied from artists or published materials. Instructor-provided references and work produced in classroom, workshop, or YouTube-learning settings are ineligible. Artwork may not be created over a photographic image, previously accepted in a national or international exhibition, more than two years old, or created using AI software. Submitted images must not show a frame. The artist retains copyright but authorizes PAPAT to use submitted images for publicity, future event promotion, and archival purposes. Artists may submit up to five images, but no more than one painting per artist will be accepted. Submit original JPEG files; detailed specifications call for at least 1,500 pixels on the longest edge and a maximum file size of 30 MB. The nonrefundable fee is $35 for the first image and $10 for each additional image and must be paid by the deadline.
