Community, family, multigenerational gatherings, and historical perspectives documenting the Tangelo Park community.

National opportunity for professional artists working in any appropriate media. Student artists may apply if they secure an experienced public artist as a mentor overseeing their work. One submission is allowed. Applications require one to five images of finished artwork or conceptual drawings; an optional video may also be submitted. Applicants must provide a blind-jury Artist Statement, Career Statement, and Letter of Interest, each limited to 1,000 characters, plus a professional résumé; teams must provide a résumé for every member. Similar-budget public-art experience is helpful but not required. Several artists will be selected to prepare site-specific proposals and will each receive a $300 stipend. The $28,200 artwork budget is comprehensive and must cover design, fabrication, materials, installation, insurance, travel, presentations, meetings, an identification plaque, and incidental expenses. Selected artists must work with a structural engineer to verify stability and suitability for Florida sun, heat, and hurricane-force winds; complete W-9 vendor registration; sign Orange County's artist agreement; and acquire required insurance. Workers’ compensation insurance is required for individual artists climbing a ladder or using a lift or other installation equipment, and an exemption certificate will not be accepted.
