St. Clair Art Fair 2027
Hosted by St. Clair Art Association
St. Clair, MI
The opportunity
Annual juried fine art and craft fair featuring more than 130 visual artists in Palmer Park along the St. Clair River in St. Clair, Michigan. Artists exhibit and sell original work June 26–27, 2027. Eligible forms include two- and three-dimensional art, drawing, basketry, furniture, leather, and other media. The fair offers $3,500 in juried cash awards across diverse categories, including Best of Show and the Winnie Compton Fangman Award.
Requirements
Apply through ZAPP only; up to four applications may be submitted. Emerging artists are accepted. All exhibited work must be of the accepted artist's original concept, design and execution, and the artist must attend during fair hours. Eligible categories include digital, drawing, mixed media, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, basketry, wearable and non-wearable fibers, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, functional and nonfunctional pottery, sculpture, wood and other media. Jewelry is limited to 35 accepted artists. Commercial molds, patterns, kits, manufactured production items, purchased-item resale and boutique items are prohibited. Artists may not sell food or drinks. Signed and numbered reproductions of the artist's paintings are allowed but must not be labeled as prints. Use of another owner's trademarks or logos requires express permission.
Image requirements conflict: the application header specifies five images including a required booth shot, while the artist rules specify four images—three artwork close-ups and one overall booth display. Images must be professional-quality, recent and representative of current work to be displayed and sold. Images are not required for non-artist vendors. Work inconsistent with the submitted quality or medium category may be removed.
Application deadline information also conflicts: the listing and platform Dates & Deadlines state January 30, 2027, while General Information states January 31, 2027. Confirm the deadline and image count with the organizer. Jury results are scheduled for March 5, 2027. The application fee is $25 and non-refundable. Artists receiving juried awards in 2024, 2025 or 2026 are exempt from jurying but must submit a full application; they receive an application-fee coupon usable at checkout, with its value unspecified. The $3,500 cash awards are juried at the show.
Invited artists must accept and pay booth fees by April 30, 2027 midnight. A single 15-by-15-foot booth costs $250; a double 30-by-15-foot booth costs $500. No booth refunds after May 31, 2027. Artists must register at the Art Center in Riverview Plaza before setting up. Registration is June 25, 1–8 pm, or June 26, 6:30–9:30 am. Fair hours are June 26, 10 am–6 pm, and June 27, 10 am–3 pm, rain or shine.
No stakes are allowed in Palmer Park grass; booths require at least 40 pounds of weight at each corner. Booth location preferences are not guaranteed, and boardwalk spaces may slope. Request electricity in the application; artists must supply extension cords and cover them to prevent tripping. Tents, tables and chairs are not provided. Artists must have a fire extinguisher readily available. Artists needing setup assistance due to physical limitations should request it during booth selection. Riverside Avenue sidewalk parking is prohibited; the area is for unloading and packing, and the road closes to vehicles during the fair except approved vendors.
