Solo and Small Group Exhibits

The Delaplaine Arts Center invites artists to propose solo or group exhibitions for one of its five galleries in Frederick, Maryland. Proposals are reviewed every other month, and exhibitions are currently being scheduled two years in advance.

Applicants must be artists and may submit one application containing 6–20 work samples, a proposal, exhibit statement, biography/CV, artist statement, contact and residence information, with social-media links, website, and additional information optional. Works in any media are eligible with no size restrictions; work created within the last two years is preferred. Proposed artwork must be original to the artist or artists, and commercially made prints, giclees, and reproductions are ineligible. Artwork need not be for sale. Review considers educational value, originality, cohesiveness, physical viability, gallery suitability within 25–2,000 square feet, installation challenges, and additional shipping, insurance, or security costs. The fee is tiered: members pay $7; the page inconsistently lists the non-member fee as $37 in General Information and $35 in the summary/application card.
