The opportunity

An outdoor arts and crafts market at Rousakis Riverfront Plaza in Savannah, Georgia, April 9–11, 2027. Artists, craftspeople, and makers sell original art and handcrafted work directly to the public. Eligible categories include mixed media, ceramics, digital art, drawing and printmaking, edibles, fiber, glass, handcraft, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood and furniture. Emerging artists may apply.

Requirements

Submit five images, including a required booth shot. Emerging artists are accepted. Application deadline: February 2, 2027, 12:00 AM PST; purchase deadline: March 1, 2027. Late applications may be accepted at the Director's discretion for the waitlist. The application/administrative processing fee is $30 and non-refundable. Standard booth: $400; double booth: $1,000; corner upgrade: $75; electricity: $100, with limited availability for doubles, corners, and electricity.

Work must be original, handmade, and created by the exhibitor. Reproductions must be identified; original art must occupy at least 50% of the artist's space. All displayed artwork must be for sale, and artists may exhibit only in jury-approved categories. Browse bins must occupy minimal space and not obstruct patron flow. Artists must attend with their work for the entire festival; commercial agents, dealers, salespeople, employees, and representatives may not operate their booths. Buy/sell is prohibited. Prohibited items include resale/manufactured T-shirts and commercial clothing, posters, manufactured toys, commercially manufactured or reproduced resale items, jewelry with more than 50% manufactured components, and items using commercially available molds or patterns.

Drawing and printmaking entries must be original; prints must be signed and numbered, and photocopies are prohibited. Fiber and glass categories prohibit embellishment of manufactured materials. Handcraft requires a complete description of items and a cohesive collection made by transforming manufactured, recycled, or repurposed materials. Jewelry prohibits commercial molds or casts; the category text also requires at least 50% of organic materials in the finished product to be produced by the artist. Photography must originate from the artist's own negative or digital photograph and be processed by the artist. Wood and furniture must be original work; embellished manufactured wood items are prohibited. Edibles must be handmade, pre-packaged, and not prepared onsite. Food trucks and honey booths are not accepted. Food booths must successfully register with Savannah DPH and submit their business license and all required DPH paperwork, starting at least six weeks before the event and/or immediately upon acceptance.

The page requires a City of Savannah Business License costing $85 per calendar year and instructs artists to use the event address as their business address. It states an exemption for artists living in counties immediately surrounding Chatham County, but also states that all selling artists must register even if they have a Georgia business license. The license may be obtained after acceptance and is not required before applying; allow at least two weeks for processing. Artists must obtain applicable licenses and permits and collect/report sales tax; the stated event sales-tax rate is 7%.

Exhibitors supply their own displays and weighted white-top tents. Rules require 10'x10' tents of EZ UP quality or higher and prohibit tailgating tents; booth information separately permits tents no larger than 10'x11'. Assigned spaces are approximately 10 feet deep and 11 feet wide or greater, and some surfaces are not level. All work must remain within the assigned space. Weight requirements differ within the page: rules specify professional weights of 45–50 pounds per tent leg and list allowed weights at a 45-pound minimum; booth/refund sections specify 40 pounds per leg. Staking or tying tents to trees or lamp posts is prohibited. Grid panels or stabilizer bars without weights, raw concrete blocks or bricks, water containers, and sand in plastic bags are prohibited. Arriving without required weights or a white-top tent can result in denied setup/removal and forfeiture of fees.

Friday April 9 setup begins at 6:30 AM; booths must open by 10 AM. Friday load-in is the general rule; a separate Saturday walk-in window of 8–8:30 AM is available only with advance approval and previous participation, dolly-in only. This is a dolly/wagon-in event, including teardown; artists must carry items across cobblestones. River Street unloading is limited to 30 minutes, with vehicles moved immediately after active unloading; vehicles cannot remain in exhibition spaces. Check-in requires photo identification; bring a driver's license. A visible dashboard parking pass is required. Artists not checked in or calling the Festival Emergency Number by Friday at 8 AM are considered no-shows, lose their spaces, and receive no refund. Festival hours are Friday and Saturday 10 AM–6 PM and Sunday 10 AM–4 PM, with staying late allowed Sunday. Maintain access to the email used for ZAPP communications; load-in/out instructions and updates are sent through ZAPP, not mailed.

The event is rain or shine, with no rain date. The refund policy states cancellations up to 90 days before the event receive fees applied to the next scheduled show and no refunds within 60 days. Previously credited booth fees and jury-exempt advance reservations are non-refundable. Credits must be used within one calendar year, require a normal application and notice to the director, and remain subject to deadlines; the policy also says credits must apply to the show for which they were given and cannot transfer to another show. Pandemic cancellation/postponement provisions offer a future-show credit/ZAPP code, while the refund policy broadly disclaims refunds for weather, government action, other cancellation causes, removal for rule violations, and insufficient weights. Credit-card submission accepts the stated charge-dispute terms. The organizer disclaims responsibility for injury, damage, or loss; exhibitors should obtain any insurance they need at their own expense. Social media is considered in jury review.
