The opportunity

A juried exhibition exploring the spaces that shaped us, homes left behind, streets renamed, and landscapes altered, and how memory preserves and transforms place. The call includes wall-mounted and three-dimensional artwork, including installations. Juror Chris Wubbena will award cash prizes totaling $1,000. The exhibition runs November 20, 2026–January 2, 2027.

About this call

Place and memory; preservation and transformation of spaces, homes, streets, and landscapes.

Requirements

Artists must be at least 18 and reside in the United States. Only one application per artist, containing 1–3 works. Artwork must be original, not copied from other art or made from a kit, completed within the last three years, and not previously shown in the St. Louis Artists' Guild's galleries. Works must be priced and marked for sale or not for sale (NFS); NFS work must include an insurance value. The Guild insures 65% of the value.

Wall-mounted work must not exceed 98 inches high by 84 inches wide or 40 pounds. Diptychs and triptychs exceeding single-entry size limits count as two or three entries depending on total size. Use wire and screw eyes, French cleats, or other professional hanging devices; no saw-tooth hangers or clip frames. Other hanging methods require Guild approval. Canvases must be framed or gallery wrapped. Any one three-dimensional piece or installation must not exceed 84 × 60 × 60 inches or 75 pounds. Ceiling-suspended components must not exceed 10 pounds each. Artists must supply computers, cords, projectors, and all equipment needed for electrical components.

Apply online through EntryThingy; do not send CDs or deliver physical work for jurying. The submission interface lists a maximum of 50MB per image and accepted file types GIF, JPG, MOV, MP4, and PNG, while the written entry instructions specify .jpeg images, a maximum of 1920px on the longest side, and 300 resolution. The stated submission deadline is October 31, 2026; the calendar lists the cutoff as November 1, 2026 at 06:59 UTC.

Non-refundable entry fees cover up to three pieces: $24 for Guild members and $35 for non-members. Sales are encouraged, and the Guild receives a 35% commission on all works sold through the exhibition. Cash prizes totaling $1,000 will be awarded by the juror.

Selected work may be hand-delivered or shipped to the gallery at 12 North Jackson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63105. Shipments are accepted only from FedEx or UPS, and artists must have their own carrier account. Artists pay shipping both ways, pickup fees, and shipping insurance, and must include a prepaid return shipping label with account number. Postage stamps and Styrofoam popcorn packing are not accepted. The Guild will email artists when work is ready for return shipping. Unstable, unusually fragile, or installation-noncompliant work may be rejected. Irreparably shipping-damaged work will not be exhibited; repairable work may be fixed at the artist's expense. Artists unable to supply the work selected by the juror will not be included; do not double-book artwork.
