Paper- An open call for anything made of or on paper

NEXT Gallery seeks artwork made of or on paper for a juried exhibition at the 40 West Arts Hub in Lakewood, Colorado, April 16–May 2, 2027, with an opening reception April 16. Traditional and unconventional approaches are welcome, including inks, graphite, paints, mark-making, cutting, manipulating, casting, creasing, sculpting, and fashions. Karen Eberle-Smith will jury submissions.

Anything made of or on paper

National eligibility for artists. All mediums accepted except AI art, within the call's scope of work made of or on paper. Artwork must be original in concept and not copied from another artist's work. Work must be completed, in good condition, and ready to hang; no saw tooth hangers. Pieces should be smaller than 5 feet in any dimension, though exceptions may be made depending on the piece and available space. Shipped artwork must not exceed 36 inches in any dimension. Submission limit: 1; submit 1–3 total media files, comprising 0–3 images and/or 0–3 videos; audio is not accepted. 3-D artists should submit a video of their piece. Images must be JPEG, at least 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi, no larger than 5 MB, and correctly oriented; actual artwork must reflect the submitted image. Applications and credit card payment are accepted only through Callforentry.org by March 15, 2027; no late applications. The $35 entry fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. Artists will be notified by March 26, 2027. Accepted artwork drop-off is April 11 and 12, 2027, time TBD; specific arrangements will be made with out-of-state artists. Mailed artwork must arrive by April 10, 2027, at the separate shipping address supplied to accepted artists. Mailed work must include prepaid return shipping or it will not be exhibited, must be carefully packed in easily reusable packing materials, and must be shipped through UPS or FEDEX; no packing peanuts. Insurance is strongly recommended; NEXT Gallery is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items or shipping costs. Sold artwork incurs a 33% commission. Entry-form prices cannot change after acceptance, and buyers will be charged Lakewood-area sales tax. Artwork must remain in the gallery until the exhibition closes. Artists will be notified of sales by email and paid for sold work within one month of the exhibition's close.
