The opportunity
Apply to sell artwork and crafts at the Orange Beach Seafood Festival at The Wharf on February 27, 2027, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The one-day festival features more than 75 artists and crafters, food, music, a children's activity area and a car show, and draws more than 20,000 attendees annually. It is a fundraising event for the Makos Academics Arts & Athletics Club benefiting Orange Beach schools. Eligible art forms include pottery, glass, leather, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, woodwork, folk art, textiles/fibers, metalwork, crafts and jewelry.
Requirements
Artist and non-artist vendor applications are accepted, including emerging artists. Submit three images: one booth setup photograph and two product photographs, plus a description of the goods/services. Artist products should be original and created by the vendor. Limited commercial vendors are selected based on festival variety, community relationships and previous participation; promotion-only booths are not accepted. Admission may be denied based on product quality, an overabundance of applicants in the same medium, or competition with Wharf tenants. Acceptance notification is through Zapplication on November 23, 2026; the purchase deadline is January 15, 2027. The $10 application fee is nonrefundable. Arts/crafts and commercial booths cost $150 each for a 10 x 10 space, with a maximum of two spaces per vendor; double booths are limited and require Events Director approval. Full-service 90% seafood truck/trailer booths cost $400; specialty food/snack booths cost $250. Most participants require a Baldwin County Transient Vendor license, renewed annually in October; contact the county license department to determine applicability. Arts/crafts vendors must provide their own 10 x 10 tent and all setup materials, including tables, chairs and tent weights. Fifty-pound weights on each tent leg are encouraged, not required. Stake downs are prohibited on the asphalt/concrete site. Arts/crafts vendors have no electricity and may not use generators. Artist/nonprofit setup is February 26, 2027, 1–6 p.m., or February 27, 6:30–8:30 a.m.; all vehicles must leave the grounds by 8:30 a.m. Vendors must remain for the full festival, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Assignments and revenue packets are distributed at check-in; detailed setup information is emailed approximately two weeks before the event. Selling and advertising must remain within the rented space. Live animals, CBD/hemp products, weapons and illegal goods may not be sold. Professional behavior is required; aggression, intoxication or other unprofessional conduct can result in removal without refunds. Smoking is prohibited in booths and public walkways; disruptive loud music is prohibited, and booth pets must be contained and nonaggressive. Food vendors must identify their vendor category; full-service menus and signage must be 90% seafood. Specialty/snack booths are single-item vendors and must use generators, with quiet-run inverters preferred, and have no power/water hookup. Full-service food setup includes power/water but no sewage hookup; vendors must contain sewage. Food vendors must check in and begin setup February 26, 2027, 10 a.m.–noon, be in place by noon and be ready for Fire Marshal inspection with owners on site. Food booth placement is first-come, first-served, 50-amp service is limited, and booths must be clean and orderly without carnival-like signage. No booth-fee refunds after January 31, 2027; refund requests must be written to the Events Director at events@orangebeachal.gov. The event is rain or shine. Safety-related cancellation carries no refunds, fund transfers or rain dates, and no credits or refunds are issued for forces of nature affecting the event. Jury review is closed.
