Open Studio Muralist Call

CID Design Group seeks artists or artist teams to create original murals for its studio's back courtyard in Bonita Springs, Florida, for the May 2027 Open Studio event and outdoor art exhibition. Approximately 6–12 murals will be selected in large, medium, and small size categories, with sizes assigned based on the proposed designs. Designs should reflect Old Florida and related local and tropical themes.

Old Florida, Tropical, Bonita Springs, South Florida, Imperial River, Wonder Gardens, Old Town Bonita, and similar themes; elevated, refined, and themed, yet not theatrical.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. National and international artists and artist teams are welcome; artists need not be local. Only one application per artist is allowed, with up to three proposals per application. Submit a statement of interest, CV, a link to a portfolio, website and/or social media, and images of the proposed project. Media requirements: 1–5 images, no audio, 0–1 video, and 1–5 total media items. Proposals must follow the stated Old Florida, tropical, and local themes, with elevated, refined designs that are not theatrical. Selected proposals will be assigned a mural size based on the design. Stated budgets are Large (A): $15K; Medium (B): $10K; Small (C): $8K. Muralists traveling from outside the region will receive a travel stipend to assist with living expenses. Murals are to be created for the May 2027 event in the studio courtyard. Entry fee: $33.
