About this call
Emerging artists ages 14–24
Requirements
Applicants must be ages 14–24 at the time of application and reside in the source's unspecified “qualified regions.” A parent or legal guardian must apply through CAFE on behalf of an artist under 18 and provide the artist's name and their relationship. Submit 1–5 artwork images; an artist statement is optional. Images must be JPG files, 1–3 MB, with at least 1200 pixels on one side. Work must be original, completed within the last two years, not previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts, and offered for sale. Two-dimensional work must be ready to hang. Accepted work may be disqualified if it differs significantly from the submitted image, and it may not be withdrawn or sold outside the exhibition before closing. Work must fit through a 94-inch-high by 91-inch-wide doorway and weigh no more than 60 pounds. The standard application fee is $25; eligible Blue Line Arts members and specified local high-school students may apply free, while high-school, community-college, and university students outside those areas may request a 50% discount. Scholarships are also available. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide a prepaid FedEx or UPS return label; USPS is not accepted. Hand-delivered work must be picked up by hand. The consignment agreement grants Blue Line Arts rights to exhibit and publicize accepted work and reproduce it in commemorative print publications; it also imposes pickup deadlines, late fees, insurance and warranty obligations, and a 15% referral commission on qualifying sales made within three months after exhibition.
