Midnight & Moss

Gallery 40 invites U.S.-based adult artists to submit original two-dimensional wall art for a juried exhibition exploring deep blues, organic greens, nighttime atmosphere, nature, mystery, and dream states. The exhibition runs December 5, 2026 through January 3, 2027 in Poughkeepsie, New York. One selected work will receive a $100 Juror’s Best in Show award.

Artwork should evoke atmosphere, mystery, nature, dream states, and the relationship between darkness and growth, with blue and green as predominant elements.

Artists must be at least 18 and live in the United States. Each artist may make one entry containing up to three original works submitted by the artist. Eligible work must be two-dimensional wall art; nudes, three-dimensional work, reproductions, and work previously exhibited at Gallery 40 are excluded. The formal Accepted Media list names painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and collage, while the call narrative also encourages printmaking, textiles, and other contemporary practices, all limited to two-dimensional work. Digital submissions must use JPG or PNG files no larger than 50MB per image. Framed dimensions may not exceed 36 inches wide by 48 inches high. Work must be for sale, and Gallery 40 retains a 40% sales commission. Accepted work must remain for the exhibition’s duration and arrive finished, dry, professionally presented, wired, and ready to hang; works on paper and smearable media must be protected under glass or plexiglass. Hand delivery is December 1, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to noon or by appointment. Shipped work must arrive by November 27 in a sturdy reusable container with a prepaid UPS or FedEx return label. A nonrefundable $35 fee covers up to three entries submitted together. The artist assumes the risk of loss or damage and permits promotional photography. One work will receive a conditional $100 Juror’s Best in Show award.
