Requirements
Applicants must be over 18 years old and reside in the United States. Work must have been completed on or after December 31, 2024. AI-generated submissions are not permitted. Submission limit: one application, containing two to five artworks. The media requirements allow zero to five images, zero to five audio files, and zero to five videos, with two to five total media items. Entry costs $10 per artwork: $20 for two, $30 for three, $40 for four, or $50 for five; fees are non-refundable. Three-dimensional work requires a description or image of proper installation and height, width, and depth measurements to the nearest inch; maximum dimensions are 84 inches tall with a 40-by-40-inch footprint, and maximum weight is 200 pounds. Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 85 inches high by 60 inches wide. Exceptions to specifications may be possible if communicated before entry; contact info@masurmuseum.org. Video works must be submitted in their entirety and may not exceed five minutes. Artist statements must be 250 words or fewer. Selected artists will be notified January 14, 2027. Accepted work must be delivered February 22–March 4, 2027; artists must include a return shipping label with shipped work or provide one before the exhibition ends. Accepted entries may be used, with artist credit, to promote this exhibition and future Juried Competitions through social media, the museum website, posters, brochures, and an outdoor banner. Exhibition banners may later be made into bags sold in the museum gift shop, potentially incorporating portions of featured artwork. Sales are optional; the museum takes no commission and only provides potential buyers with artists' contact information. Total awards are $3,200, including $1,000 for Best in Show. A $100 Best Packed award is selected by museum staff; packing peanuts, feedbags, cigarette butts, and similar packing materials disqualify artists from that award. Artists need not attend the reception to receive awards; checks are mailed afterward. The page gives conflicting submission deadlines: the repeated application-deadline fields state December 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MST, while the general-information schedule states December 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
