The opportunity

Woman Made Gallery invites women and nonbinary artists at all career stages, working in any medium, to submit to a juried exhibition exploring male violence and abuse against women, online misogyny, and broader feminist issues. Juried by SAIC MA students, the exhibition runs April 10–May 8, 2027, at the gallery in Chicago.

About this call

Male violence and abuse against women, online misogyny, and feminist resistance, representation, and cultural agency.

Requirements

Open to women and nonbinary artists at all career stages working in any medium. Artists engaging with contemporary feminist issues or future-oriented feminist visions are especially encouraged to apply. All work must address the exhibition theme, and a brief artist statement is required. Submit 1–3 pieces; maximum two entries per artist. Accepted file types: JPG, MOV, MP4, PNG; maximum file size is 50MB per image. Work must be original and created by the submitting artist. Collaborations are accepted if all artists meet eligibility criteria and are properly credited. AI tools may be used for research or inspiration, but work must not be primarily AI-generated; AI-generated images, text, or objects with minimal human intervention are not accepted. Artwork previously exhibited at Woman Made Gallery is ineligible. Works may not exceed 6 feet on the widest side or 75 pounds unless the artist personally handles both delivery and pickup. Artists arrange shipping of accepted artwork to the gallery; shipped and hand-delivered work must arrive ready to exhibit. The standard entry fee is $30. A number of reduced entry fees and waivers are reserved for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists; artists may request discounted entry or a fee waiver at general@womanmade.org with the subject "Fee Waiver". Work may be for sale or marked Not for Sale. WMG retains a 40% sales commission and pays the remaining balance to the artist within 30 days of the sale. Accepted artists must agree to exhibition terms covering the schedule, shipping and delivery, installation, insurance disclaimer, sales and commissions, reproduction of digital files and images, and website and publicity requirements. The page gives conflicting jury notification dates: February 13 and February 21, 2027.
