Main Gallery Proposals

GCCA accepts proposals for approximately two-month exhibitions of contemporary visual art in its Main Gallery in Greenville, South Carolina. Proposals may be submitted at any time; proposals for the 2028 exhibition calendar will be reviewed in Fall 2026. Selected artists receive installation support, but acceptance is not guaranteed.

Open to artists across the continental United States. Individual proposals must consist of original artwork created and executed by the applicant. Curators and groups may propose multi-artist exhibitions, but only artists listed in the proposal will be reviewed. Submit artist statement(s) and bio(s), a full exhibition description, a CV or résumé, and 8–10 artwork images representative of the proposal or showing the actual work. Applications must use the online form; email and postal proposals are not accepted. Artists, curators, or groups are responsible for delivery, return, and shipping costs. Applicants should review the Main Gallery floor plan and identify special installation equipment or requirements.
