The opportunity

A group exhibition exploring the keyhole as a literal, symbolic, psychological, mysterious, intimate, or surreal threshold. Artists are invited to explore hidden worlds, memories, dreams, curiosity, privacy, access, exclusion, and transformation through 2D and 3D artwork. The exhibition takes place at Memento Mori Gallery & Tattoo in Lakewood, Colorado, February 5–26, 2027, with a First Friday reception on February 5 from 6–9 p.m. Emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply.

About this call

The keyhole—literal, symbolic, psychological, mysterious, intimate, or surreal—and what lies beyond it.

Requirements

National eligibility for artists submitting 2D or 3D artwork. The overview lists a submission limit of 1; applicants may include up to 2 pieces, with 1–2 images required and no audio or video accepted. Entry costs $30 per piece, including $30 for a second piece. All artwork must be for sale, with 40% of each sale going to the gallery. Work must be physically ready to hang or display. Digital artwork is accepted only if printed and properly framed or mounted. Hanging hardware must already be attached; plain canvas without hanging wire is not ready to hang. Hanging wire is preferred, adhesive mounts are prohibited, and work must hang from a hook or nail. Work not ready to hang will be rejected at drop-off. Photographs depicting another artist's artwork, including street art, require that artist's express permission to show and sell the photograph. Out-of-state artists must pay shipping costs both to and from the gallery and should submit only if prepared to do so. Drop-off is January 30, 2027; pickup is February 27, 2027.
