International Call for Artists - Experimental Visual Art for Hardcover Book Editions & Online (Art Reviews)

Point Pleasant Publishing invites international artists working in alternative and experimental visual art to apply for the Artist Feature Catalogue. Selected artists receive a detailed curatorial review essay and a six-page spread in a linen wrap hardcover art book, with essays also published online. Published artists also have one artwork on permanent display in the publisher's online Saatchi Art gallery. Applying is free, but selected artists must make a donation or purchase a current paperback edition to participate. Artists receive no financial compensation.

Alternative and experimental visual art

Eligible forms include photography, performance, moving-image (video / film), installation, fiber / textiles, assemblage, collage, jewelry, light design, printmaking, fashion / costume design, text-based fragments, and analogue digital (no AI). AI-created works and Instagram links as portfolios are not accepted. Selection considers originality, conceptual impact, portfolio cohesiveness, and aesthetic qualities; alternative / experimental and underrepresented artists are especially encouraged to apply. Read all guidelines before applying; reading a couple of the publisher's essays beforehand is highly recommended, not required. Email a CV, 3 image samples, and an artist website or online portfolio. There is no application fee. Selected artists must choose a contribution option: a $35 donation or purchase of any current paperback edition; a $100 donation includes one premium linen wrap hardcover copy of the volume featuring the artist and free expedited shipping; a $170 donation includes two hardcover copies, free expedited shipping, and 15% savings off the listed price; a $300 donation includes four hardcover copies, free expedited shipping, and 25% savings off the listed price. Every essay is published in print and online regardless of contribution level. Applying or agreeing to participate grants Michael Athanasius Hanna and Point Pleasant Publishing representatives permission to use images from the artist's online portfolio and art in digital and print publications and promotions. No royalties or other financial compensation are paid for that usage. Artists retain copyright. Artists who disagree must notify the publisher by email that they do not wish to participate.
