In Practice: Annual Juried Exhibition

Foothills Art Center’s annual juried exhibition, formerly its Members’ Exhibition, celebrates artistic practice, exploration, experimentation, and growth. Membership is no longer required to apply. The exhibition runs February 6–May 2, 2027, and offers sponsored cash prizes.

Artistic practice, exploration, experimentation, and growth

International eligibility; artists may apply without FAC membership. Submit 1–3 images representing up to 3 works; a maximum of 1 work may be selected. Audio and video submissions are not accepted. All media, including alternative media, are eligible. Works must be original, with no reproductions except digital works, and must not have been previously shown at FAC. Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed with all hanging hardware ready; other work must be installation-ready, with instructions if necessary. There is no size restriction, but larger works will be assessed for effective use of scale. The entry fee is $20; FAC members at the Catalyst level and above receive a 50% discount and must email eriq@foothillsartcenter.org to request a discount code. Work will be juried by FAC staff and 2026 Viewer’s Choice Award winner Lee Gilliland. Selection criteria: exceptional use of media 15%, rendering of subject matter 15%, effective use of color and contrast 15%, originality of content 20%, overall concept 15%, strong use of composition 15%, and craftsmanship and presentation 5% (more heavily weighted for 3D works). Awards: Over All Outstanding Creation $500; Mastery of Medium $300; Exceptional Originality $300; Viewer’s Choice $300 and an invitation to be the 2028 juror.
