Here & Now

A regional juried exhibition at Bristol Art Museum inviting original work inspired by Rhode Island, the greater Narragansett Bay area, or Southern New England. Contemporary, conceptual, traditional, and literal responses may explore the region's places, people, waterways, landscapes, architecture, working waterfronts, and communities. Eligible forms include photography, painting, printmaking, fiber, mixed media, and other two- and three-dimensional works. Selected works will appear in the Livingston Gallery from December 6, 2026, through January 10, 2027. The juror is Dan Wallace. The exhibition is part of the museum's annual fundraising initiative.

Work inspired by Rhode Island, the greater Narragansett Bay area, or Southern New England, reflecting a sense of place through observation, memory, experience, and personal connection.

Open to artists in Rhode Island and the surrounding region who can hand-deliver accepted artwork. Work must be original and completed during 2026. Each artist is encouraged to submit three original works; up to three pieces may be submitted. Entry fees are $15 for one entry, $25 for two entries, and $35 for three entries. All two-dimensional work must be professionally framed or gallery wrapped and ready to hang. Maximum size is 40 inches in any direction; three-dimensional work may weigh no more than 50 lbs. Submitted images must be JPG, under 4 MB, and in sRGB colorspace; for best results, images should be at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to Bristol Art Museum on November 23 or November 24, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m.; no shipped artwork will be accepted. Pickup is January 11 and 12, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup, and selected artwork must remain on view for the entire exhibition. Participating artists agree to donate 50% of the proceeds from sales of exhibited artwork to Bristol Art Museum.
