The opportunity

Juried indoor fine art fair at The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, scheduled for March 20–21, 2027, with show hours of 10am–5pm each day. Artists exhibit and sell original handmade work in the Ballroom and Community Room. Eligible categories include basket weaving, ceramics, collage, digital art, drawing, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metalwork, mixed media, mosaic, painting, photography, pottery, printmaking, sculpture, upcycled art, woodworking, and miscellaneous work. The jury determines first-, second-, and third-place awards.

Requirements

Original work handcrafted by the artist only; buy/sell vendors and non-artisan crafters are ineligible. Commercially made molds, kits, and commercially produced work are prohibited. The application does not accept emerging-artist applications. Complete the entire application and agree to all show rules. Image requirements conflict: the application header requires 6 images including a booth shot, while the prospectus says 'Submit 5 quality images {include 1 booth shot}'; confirm the required count. Up to two applications are allowed. Applying in two categories requires two application fees and two image sets; acceptance may be in one, neither, or both categories. The non-refundable jury/application fee is $35 per application.

Booth purchase deadline: February 3, 2027. Booth information lists approximately 8ft x 8ft or 9ft x 7ft indoor space for $595, a guaranteed corner with two open sides for an additional $100, and electricity for an additional $75. Another passage describes booths as about 9ft x 8ft. Bring all displays, panel walls, tables, chairs, extension cords, and other operating equipment. Panel walls must not exceed 7ft; no tents or tent frames, and nothing may be hung or taped to venue walls. All artists must set up on Friday, with time slots supplied about ten days beforehand. The source labels setup 'Friday, March 20th,' which conflicts with the 2027 event dates; confirm setup arrangements. Descriptive copy also refers to the 2026 fair despite the 2027 title and dated schedule.

Exhibited work must represent the images submitted to the jury. Painters, illustrators, and 2D mixed-media artists may sell signed and numbered reproductions in editions of no more than 250 per work. Reproductions must be archival, matted and unframed, no larger than 24 x 40 inches, or professional archival prints on aluminum. Clearly mark reproductions and provide details of the reproduction process. Only two reproduction bins per 10ft x 10ft booth are allowed; contact the organizer before applying if more are needed. Original multiples must be registered, numbered, and signed, with editions limited to 250; functional pottery and ceramics may be exhibited in multiples.

Jewelers must fabricate their own forms, findings, and settings; commercially fabricated items and bead stringing are prohibited, while woven jewelry is allowed. Only accepted jewelers may sell jewelry. Photographs must not be altered beyond traditional photography; otherwise apply under Digital. Professional print processors may be used for large-scale photographic materials. Photographs must be signed and numbered in editions of no more than 250 per image; booth-wall photographs must be framed or professionally edged. All 2D work must be ready to hang or framed and matted, displayed properly on screens and stands. Leatherwork must be handmade, without machine-screened patterns, machine-tooling, or mass-production methods.

Artists must personally attend throughout show hours, represent their own work, and be able to show photo ID; agents are prohibited. Illness or limitation exceptions require advance written permission from the show director. Follow applicable Covid guidelines and venue/event rules. Furnish liability insurance naming Art Fair Fun and The War Memorial as co-insured. Agree to promotional use of submitted application images and photographs of the booth for this and future years. The source requires indemnification and holding harmless Art as Healing Foundation, Art Fair Fun, Ford House, and staff, and disclaims responsibility for losses, damage, and injury. No refunds; medical emergencies require a written request with a doctor's note for consideration. First-, second-, and third-place awards are determined by the jury; no award amounts are stated.
