Gathered VII: Georgia Artists Selecting Georgia Artists
Hosted by Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia
Atlanta, GA
The opportunity
MOCA GA's seventh biennial juried exhibition invites Georgia artists to submit three recent works for selection by Georgia artists Hannah Israel, Craig Drennen and Kelly Taylor Mitchell. The exhibition will take place in the museum's new building in Atlanta from January 23 through March 27, 2027, with an opening reception on January 23. The call names no medium restriction and accommodates photography and new media, including video, animation and motion graphics. Up to $5,000 in cash awards will be given out.
Requirements
Applicants must be 18 or older and have both their home and studio addresses within Georgia. Submit three works, each produced within the last three years; all three must remain available for the entire exhibition because a juror may select one or several. Submit images as JPEG or PNG files under 4 MB and no more than 4800 pixels on the longest side. Submit new media, including video, animation and motion graphics, as MOV or MP4 files under 25 MB or as a link. Include a biography of up to 150 words and an artist statement of 50–100 words. Entry costs $35. Work must arrive installation-ready with professional-quality frames or mounting. Artists must deliver and collect their own work and sign a museum loan form. The museum supplies installation staff, pedestals, shelving, projectors and monitors, interpretive materials, press and social marketing, and a public opening reception. Submissions close at midnight on November 1, 2026; selection notifications are December 11, 2026. Work drop-off is January 7–9, 2027. Up to $5,000 in cash awards is given out.
