The opportunity

The 52nd Fiesta Arts Fair takes place April 17–18, 2027, on the historic grounds of UT San Antonio-Southwest Campus in San Antonio, Texas. Approximately 105–115 selected artists exhibit and sell contemporary and traditional art and craft at this juried two-day event. The fair includes live music, food and beverage booths, a youth art area, artist amenities, and juror-selected cash awards. It is a partnered fundraising event between the University of Texas at San Antonio and the UT San Antonio Alumni Association, benefiting adult and youth Community Art Programs at the Southwest Campus.

Requirements

Applications accept emerging artists. Submit five images: four individual works consistent with what will be shown and one booth shot demonstrating continuity, scale, and presentation of the body of work. Images, including the booth shot, must not identify the artist or company or show name signage. Jurors also review image descriptions, materials, dimensions, and the artist statement. Applications are juried anonymously by media category. Up to three applications may be submitted; entering more than one medium requires separate applications, fees, and images. Artists may exhibit and sell only the accepted media category and body of work. Prior participation does not guarantee selection; previous-year artist award winners receive one-year jury exemption.

Eligible media are ceramics, digital art, digital photography, drawing, fiber/leather, glass, precious and non-precious jewelry, metal, painting, traditional photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, and 2-D and 3-D mixed media. Apply in the appropriate category. Artists must be major contributors to the design and creation of their exhibited artwork. Only original handmade work is accepted; mass-produced, sourced, or kit work is prohibited regardless of modification. Commercial parts must be subordinate. Commercial products and food items are ineligible. Jewelry must be juried in a jewelry category regardless of material, and no more than 15% of a jewelry piece may consist of commercial findings or components. Ceramics and glass categories exclude jewelry; metal covers functional, non-sculptural, non-wearable objects. Digital art and digital photography must be printed by the artist or under direct supervision and be one-of-a-kind or numbered limited editions. Traditional photography must use the artist's original images and traditional darkroom printing; non-traditional photography belongs in digital photography. Printmaking must be hand-manipulated and hand-pulled, limited edition, signed and numbered.

Only limited-edition, signed and numbered reproductions of accompanying original artwork are allowed; no Artists Proofs. Reproductions must be archival quality, clearly labeled 'Reproduction', comprise no more than 20% of the number of works in the booth, and be unframed in bins or racks. Prints in digital, printmaking, photography, and non-darkroom photography categories must be limited editions, signed and numbered. Drawing, painting, and 2-D mixed-media exhibitors must also follow the reproduction policy.

Principal artists and collaborators listed on the application must attend and staff their booths during the fair. Dealers, agents, and representatives are not permitted. Photo identification is required at check-in. The fair may reject displayed items inconsistent with submitted images or prevent exhibition for unacceptable conduct.

Non-refundable application jury fees: $25 early-bird fee until September 8, 2026; $30 regular fee; $35 late fee beginning November 2, 2026. The listed application deadline is November 1, 2026, at 12:00 AM PDT; a separate late-fee deadline is November 4, 2026. Notification is November 24, 2026.

Booth payment and emailed Booth Request Paperwork are due January 14, 2027. Payment is by credit card or PayPal on Zapplication; paperwork is returned to barbara.hill@utsa.edu. Booth fees start at $425 for a 10-by-10-foot space and increase with size and location. Available sizes are 10 by 10, 10 by 15, and 10 by 20 feet; the largest spaces are limited. Most booths are outdoors, with approximately 14% indoors. Corners, electricity, tables, and chairs cost extra. Assignment and location preferences depend on receipt of full payment and paperwork. Artists must supply sound tents and booth structures within their allocated space and keep displays and artwork within rented dimensions. Storage is limited, not guaranteed, and should be requested on the paperwork.

Artists purchasing electricity must provide UL-listed heavy-duty extension cords and/or plug strips. Daisy-chained electrical connections, all batteries including Jackery Power Stations, and homemade or damaged electrical appliances and cords are prohibited. Electrical installations are subject to inspection, and university decisions are final. Booth cancellations before February 15, 2027 receive a refund less $100; refunds are unavailable after that date. Juror-selected cash prizes are offered, but amounts are not stated.
