Requirements
Eligibility statements conflict: the introduction and FAQ invite artists residing in US states or territories, Canada or Mexico, while other passages say entry is international or worldwide except sanctioned countries. All work must be original, completed solely by the artist’s hand, and meet exhibition guidelines. Image-generative AI work and reproduced artwork are not accepted. Artists may enter a maximum of six original works created within the past three years. Work exhibited in MFA’s Virtual Gallery within the last three years is ineligible for re-entry. Entry constitutes agreement with MFA’s Statement of Equality and Diversity and General Guidelines. Submitted images must correspond with the actual work; work cannot be withdrawn before the event ends. Apply through artcall.org using an account with an email address and password. Uploads must be no larger than 10 MB. Submit a separate application for each artwork; a second or third detail image is optional. Video entries require a video link in the Linked Web Resource field and an uploaded still frame or screenshot. Accepted video artists must deliver the file to MFA on a thumbdrive. Entry fees are non-refundable: one or two entries cost $30, with up to four additional entries at $4.50 each. Discounted member fees are available only to current MFA members; non-members may join first to receive the discount. Any discrepancy between membership status and the fee paid must be paid before the deadline or the work will not be shown to the juror. Work must be for sale, although Price on Request is permitted. Only artists in the 48 contiguous United States may set a price; other artists must use Price on Request, with purchase inquiries referred to them. Artists retain 80% of sales, or 85% for MFA members; MFA retains a 20% commission, or 15% for members. Artists are responsible for sales fulfillment. For online sales shipments by artists in the 48 contiguous states, MFA reimburses up to $35 in shipping costs with a receipt. MFA asks artists to donate 20% of sales arising from direct MFA referrals within three months. MFA handles sales-tax processing. Images of accepted works may be used at MFA’s discretion for promotional purposes, including invitations, catalogs, websites, social media and subsequent prospectuses, with attribution wherever possible. The exhibition schedule gives an entry deadline of December 9, 2026 at 11:59 PM without specifying a timezone; the page’s Entry Dates metadata is inconsistent with that schedule.
