Creations of the Night: Art Inspired by Dreams

A members-only, in-person exhibition by Associated Artists of Winston Salem exploring dreams, sleep, and the subconscious. The exhibition runs November 3, 2026 through February 2, 2027 at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Accepted work may be offered for sale, with artists receiving 70% of the sales price and AAWS retaining a 30% commission; work may also be designated not for sale.

Dreams, sleep, and the subconscious

Open only to AAWS members. Each artist may submit up to three artworks for a nonrefundable $20 fee, and only the first 50 entries will be accepted. Work must be original, created by the exhibitor within the past three years, and not previously displayed in an Every Corner Gallery exhibit unless it reflects the theme. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 50 inches horizontally, 48 inches vertically, or 35 pounds including the frame; it must be professionally framed with wire and ready to hang. Gallery-wrapped canvases are permitted if they have no visible staples or unpainted canvas; wet paintings and alligator hangers are prohibited. Works on paper must be protected by glass or Plexiglas. Three-dimensional work may be considered only if it can be securely wall-hung and is approved. The family venue does not accept nudes or offensive subjects. Mass-produced reproductions of paintings or drawings are excluded, while hand-pulled prints, original digital prints, and photographs are acceptable. Artwork must be hand delivered and picked up in person; shipped and return-shipped work cannot be accepted. Entry images must be high-quality JPEG/JPG files, preferably sRGB, cropped to show only the artwork, correctly oriented, at least 1,500 pixels on the longest edge, and no larger than 30 MB. AAWS reserves the right to use submitted images for promotion and display in its online Virtual Gallery. Entries must be complete, submitted, and paid by the deadline; they cannot be accepted or changed afterward.
