The opportunity

A juried group exhibition and holiday art market at the Lakewood Cultural Center featuring small, original two-dimensional artworks priced at $500 or less. Inspired by nineteenth-century French salons, the exhibition celebrates traditional and contemporary artistic practices. The exhibition runs November 7, 2026–January 2, 2027, with an opening reception November 7 from 6–8 p.m. City of Lakewood Arts Programming Curator Laine Godsey will jury the salon.

Requirements

Open to all artists. Eligible work includes, but is not limited to, original paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, and photographs; two-dimensional work only. No reproductions, nudity, sexually explicit imagery, or violence. Work cannot exceed 3 feet in any direction, including the frame, and must be framed and ready to hang or mount on the wall using securely attached wires or a cleat system. Nothing may be suspended from the ceiling or sit on the floor. The entry fee is $30 for up to three works. Submit electronically through CaFÉ; the overview lists one submission and requires 1–3 images, with no audio or video. No changes to information are possible after submission, and only preregistered work will be accepted. All work must be for sale. The summary and application requirements permit prices of $500 or less, while the Entry Fee section says under $500; confirm the price limit with the organizer. The City receives a 15% commission on sales; submitted prices cannot be changed, and W-9 forms must be completed for artwork sales. No shipping: all work must be hand-delivered to the Lakewood Cultural Center during the week of October 26, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Each work must bear a label with the artist's name and title; loan agreements are completed at delivery. Acceptance notifications are due by the end of October 23. The header, Acceptance section, and Important Dates give October 22, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MDT as the deadline, with acceptance closing earlier if full; an inconsistent application-requirements bullet instead says 'Sunday, November 6rd, 2026.' Confirm this discrepancy with the organizer. Sold work is available for pickup after December 18. Unsold work must be picked up during the week of January 4, 2027, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.; alternate retrieval arrangements require coordination with staff. All work must be collected within 90 days of exhibition close; LCC is not responsible for storage after that.
