Chastain Park Fall Arts Festival 2027
Hosted by AFFPS
Atlanta, GA
The opportunity
Juried, two-day outdoor arts festival at Chastain Park in Atlanta on November 6–7, 2027, featuring approximately 175 artists and artisans. The festival presents original work across painting, photography, sculpture, glass, jewelry, leather, metalwork, mixed media and other listed categories, with artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, food vendors and free public admission. Artists exhibit work for sale to a Buckhead and North Atlanta audience. The source contains conflicting statements about craft eligibility, application fees and tent-weight minimums; these are preserved in the requirements.
Requirements
Apply through Zapplication with 5 images, including a required booth shot. Applications from emerging artists are not accepted. Application deadline: September 8, 2027 at 12:00 AM PDT; purchase deadline: October 15, 2027. Late applications may be accepted at the Director's discretion for the waitlist. Social media is considered by the jury. Artists may exhibit only in jury-approved categories and must personally attend with their work throughout the festival; agents, dealers and salespeople may not operate their booths. Merchandise must be original, handmade and created by the exhibitor; reproductions must be identified, original art must occupy at least 50% of the space, and all displayed artwork must be for sale. Buy/sell goods, imported items and items not handmade by the attending artist are ineligible. Prohibited items include T-shirts and commercial clothing, posters, manufactured toys, commercially manufactured or reproduced resale goods, jewelry made from more than 50% manufactured components, and items using commercially available molds or patterns. Listed categories include 2-D and 3-D mixed media, ceramics, digital art, drawing and printmaking, edibles, fiber, glass, handicraft, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood/furniture; the introduction nevertheless says this fall event excludes craftwork, so craft eligibility should be clarified. Prints must be signed and numbered; photocopies are prohibited. Fiber and glass may not be embellished manufactured materials. Wood work must be original, not embellished manufactured items. Photography must originate from the artist's own negative or digital image and be processed by the artist. Jewelry may not use commercial molds or casts, and at least 50% of the organic materials used in the finished product must be produced by the artist. Handicraft applicants must provide a complete description of their items. Edibles must be handmade, prepackaged and not prepared onsite. Application-fee statements conflict: the application header lists a $35 nonrefundable administrative processing fee, while Booth Information lists a $30 nonrefundable processing fee; confirm the actual charge. Booth fees: standard $350; double $700, 10x20, limited availability; double-deep $500, 10x20 deep, limited to spaces 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 18, 19 and 20; corner upgrade $100 and electricity $100, both limited. Standard assigned spaces are approximately 10 feet deep and 11 feet wide or greater, and some street areas are not level. Exhibitors supply their own displays and white-top tents of EZ UP quality or higher, keep all work within assigned spaces, and use tent weights. Weight requirements conflict: the rules specify professional weights of 45–50 pounds per tent leg and list approved weights at a minimum of 45 pounds each, while booth/refund sections specify 40 pounds per leg. No staking, tying to trees or lamp posts, or driving on grass. Artists arriving without weights cannot set up and forfeit participation fees. Permitted weights include tube weights, cloth-contained sandbags, concrete-filled buckets, stabilizer bars with sandbags, and weight plates or dumbbells; grid panels or stabilizer bars alone, raw concrete blocks or bricks, one-gallon water containers and plastic-bag sandbags are prohibited. Drive-in load-in is Friday, November 5, 2027, noon–6 PM. Saturday load-in requires prior approval and dollying, with no driving in. Check in with photo ID and have a driver's license available. Artists who have neither checked in nor called the festival emergency number by Friday at 6 PM are treated as no-shows, lose their spaces and receive no refunds. Unload, move vehicles to designated parking before setup, and hand-cart additional merchandise after designated load-in times. Display the parking pass on the vehicle dash. Maintain access to the email associated with Zapp for load-in/out instructions and event communications. Artists must obtain applicable licenses, permits and approvals and collect/report sales tax; the source lists an 8% event sales-tax rate. The event is rain or shine, with no rain date or weather refunds. Cancellations up to 90 days before the event have fees applied to the next scheduled show; no refunds within 60 days, for booth fees applied from a previously canceled show, or for prior-year jury-exempt spots. Credits must be used within one calendar year, require a normal application and notice to the show director, and must be applied to the show for which they were given rather than transferred. Application/administrative fees are nonrefundable. The rules state pandemic cancellation, postponement or suspension results in credit for the upcoming show; the refund policy otherwise excludes refunds for show cancellation or removal for rule violations.
