Call for Solo or Group Exhibit for 2026
Highland, MI
The opportunity
Huron Valley Arts is accepting proposals from individual artists, cohesive groups, and curators for in-person visual-art exhibitions during its 2027 gallery year at Steeple Hall Gallery. Selected exhibitions will run for approximately one to two months. HVA provides advertising and plans a collaborative Meet the Artist reception. Exhibited work must be offered for sale, with HVA retaining a 35% commission on sales.
Requirements
Open to artists age 18 or older applying individually, as a cohesive group through a designated leader, or as a curator. Applicants must upload 8–20 images; each image may be no larger than 10MB, and accepted file types are JPG, PDF, and PNG. The page also states a maximum of four entries per artist. Artwork must be original, solely created by the artist, completed within the last two years, not previously exhibited at HVA, and offered for sale. Hanging items may weigh no more than 25 pounds and may not exceed 48 inches in any direction. Accepted work must be hand-delivered, presentation-ready, and personally picked up if unsold; framed work requires appropriate glass or plexiglass and secured hanging wire, and saw-tooth hangers are prohibited. HVA receives a 35% commission on sales. Submission grants HVA permission to photograph accepted work and use the images for promotional or educational purposes. Accepted work may not be withdrawn before the exhibition closes. Fee information is internally inconsistent: the page labels entry as free, while the instructions and terms state a non-refundable $30 jury/entry fee paid through PayPal or check, with scholarships available to waive the fee; applicants should confirm the applicable fee with the organizer.
