Call for Artists: 2028 Exhibition Gallery Show
Lanesboro, MN
The opportunity
Lanesboro Arts invites visual artists to propose bodies of work for a juried solo or group exhibition in its Exhibition Gallery. The page is labeled as a 2028 application, although its scheduling text says the current application window covers exhibitions taking place in 2027. Approximately five exhibitions are presented annually, and each runs for about eight weeks. Artwork need not be offered for sale; sold work is handled on consignment, with the artist receiving 60% of the retail price.
About this call
Bodies of work should enrich artists and the community through discussion and connection while demonstrating an original voice, artistic vision, quality craftsmanship, accessibility, and alignment with Lanesboro Arts’ organizational values.
Requirements
All visual-arts media and both traditional and contemporary styles are accepted, but artwork created using generative AI is prohibited. Applicants must provide a proposed-exhibition title, a description of at least 4–6 sentences, a current artist statement of at least 4–6 sentences, and representative work samples. The instructions request at least three digital images or photographs at 300 dpi and approximately 4 × 5 inches in EPS, TIF, or JPG format; the upload interface permits up to three samples and lists a 300 MB file limit. Dropbox or Google Drive links may be used, with Google Drive folders shared publicly. An optional artist-statement video must be no longer than one minute. Online applications are strongly preferred, but artists may request a hard-copy application or submit a video application to gallery@lanesboroarts.org with the subject “Gallery Application.” Applications are incomplete until images are received. Accepted artists must exhibit work similar to the samples reviewed by the jury. Work does not have to be for sale, although saleable work is encouraged; artists receive 60% of retail sales and Lanesboro Arts retains 40%.
