Belle Isle Art Fair 2027

A juried outdoor visual-art fair at Belle Isle State Park in Detroit. Participating artists exhibit original work in staffed booths and must offer art for sale. The fair runs August 7–8, 2027, and includes an emerging-artist application route.

Submit four images, including a required booth shot; up to two applications may be submitted. Emerging artists must use the separate application at intshows.com/emerge. Work must be original and created by the applying artist; work created by another artist or substantially completed using AI is not accepted. Artists may show only the medium and styles presented and accepted during the application process, and artists seeking consideration in two media are advised to apply separately for each. Participants must provide their own tent and display, with tents staked or weighted by at least 40 pounds per corner. Booth sharing is allowed only when every sharing artist has been juried and accepted and prior arrangements are approved. Art must be available for sale, and artists must collect and remit Michigan sales tax. Booths must remain open throughout event hours, with at least one listed artist present. Artists must carry at least $1 million in liability coverage and name the specified City of Detroit and State of Michigan entities as additional insureds. The organizer may use artists’ names, images, likenesses, and representative work samples to promote the fairs. Reproductions may comprise up to 25% of a booth, must derive from the artist’s original work, and must be clearly labeled; kits, commercial molds, copyrighted or trademarked images, and substantially AI-created visual art are prohibited. Medium-specific restrictions apply to jewelry, fiber, photography, prints, reproductions, and mass-produced items. Application fees are tiered: $25 through December 31, 2026, then $30. Participation costs include $525 for a 10x10 standard booth, $775 for a 15x10 booth-and-a-half, or $975 for a 20x10 double booth; electricity is $175 and corner spaces add $135. A vehicle recreation passport and liability insurance may also entail additional costs.
