Albany Museum of Art 3rd Annual Call for Artists: Juried Summer 2027 Solo Exhibition

The Albany Museum of Art invites emerging and mid-career artists working in Georgia, Alabama, or Florida to propose a solo exhibition in any medium. A committee will select one artist for an exhibition in the museum’s McCormack Gallery from May 13 through August 21, 2027. The selected artist will be notified by March 8, 2027.

Applicants must be emerging or mid-career artists, age 18 or older, working in Georgia, Alabama, or Florida; any medium is eligible. Address applications to the Curatorial Department and email them to entries@albanymuseum.com. Applications must arrive in the museum’s entries email account by 5 pm EST on January 29, 2027; late applications will not be considered, and the museum is not responsible for internet outages or transmission delays. Submit: a CV or résumé; an artist bio including three institutions where the artist has shown work for reference; and a two- to four-page, single-spaced letter of interest in a standard 12-point font such as Arial or Times New Roman. The letter must describe the artist’s practice, the proposed exhibition’s subject matter, theme and focus, and a walkthrough explaining how visitors will interact with the space. Include a checklist of five to nine artworks with each work’s title, date, medium and dimensions. Works must fit within a 345-square-foot space, or approximately 65 linear feet, and all proposed works must be available for display May 13–August 21, 2027. Supply a high-resolution JPG of each proposed work, with the artist’s name and artwork title in the image filename. A bibliography is optional; if included, it must list references drawn upon for inspiration or influence. PDF documents are preferred, and all filenames should include the artist’s first and last name. If no submission acknowledgment is received, allow one full business day before calling 229.439.8400 and asking for the Curatorial Department. The selected artist will be notified by March 8, 2027. Artworks must be delivered to the Albany Museum of Art, 311 Meadowlark Drive, Albany, Ga., by 4 pm on April 30, 2027, and picked up by September 3, 2027, unless another arrangement is discussed with the Curatorial team and confirmed in writing. The museum will not engage in sales or promotion of sales for displayed artworks.
