Artists receive 70% of sales.
About this call
What brings artists joy, peace, inspiration, or a sense of wonder; a few of their favorite things.
Requirements
Open only to Buenaventura Art Association members; fees paid by nonmembers will not be refunded. Enter up to two original pieces, each no larger than 11 x 14 excluding the frame. Works exhibited at any BAA location within one year of the deadline are ineligible. All pieces must be wired for hanging. Unframed canvas pieces must be gallery wrapped on deep stretcher bars, with edges finished in a single color or the image continuing around the sides. Entry costs $25 for one or two pieces plus $3 processing, totaling $28. Only one entry per artist; upload GIF, JPG, or PNG images, maximum 50MB per image. The platform lists 1–4 pieces, while the exhibition rules specify up to two entered works and allow one or two additional donated works. Accepted artists must host two 3.5-hour gallery sessions during the exhibition; shifts are first come, first served through SignUp Genius. Alternatively, donate one small original artwork for each hosting shift waived, using supplied 8 x 10 canvases; two donated works waive both shifts. Donations support the Art Center's holiday collection and fundraiser. Bring in all artwork Tuesday, November 10, 11:30am–2pm; pickup is January 5, 2027. Artwork must be original and family-friendly. Clearly label work with the artist's first and last name, price, and required inventory information; follow BAA presentation, packaging, inventory, sales, intake, pickup, and removal procedures. BAA determines display placement and may decline, move, rotate, or remove work. Artists receive 70% of sales and BAA retains 30%; payments are generally made between the 10th and 15th of the following month for the previous month's sales. The general gallery agreement allows participation fees for some display opportunities, depending on the opportunity and Board policies; this show's stated entry total is $28. Artists must fulfill assigned participation responsibilities, check email, respond when requested, and communicate respectfully. Artwork is displayed at the artist's own risk; artists release and hold BAA and its representatives harmless for loss, damage, theft, or injury except intentional misconduct by BAA. Submission constitutes agreement to the gallery policies; noncompliance can result in removal or termination of participation.
