a deeper dialogue for experimental visual art

An international publication call for conceptual and experimental visual artists. Selected artists receive a detailed curatorial review essay and a six-page spread in the Artist Feature Catalogue, published in linen-wrap hardcover and online. Published artists also have one artwork permanently displayed in the publisher's online Saatchi Art gallery. Application is free, but selected artists must make a contribution or purchase a current paperback edition. No financial compensation or royalties are paid.

Conceptual and experimental visual art

Accepts alternative and experimental visual art including photography, performance, moving-image (video / film), installation, fiber / textiles, assemblage, collage, jewelry, light design, printmaking, fashion / costume design, text-based fragments, and analogue digital (no AI). Instagram links are not accepted as portfolios, and works made with artificial intelligence are excluded. Selection considers originality, conceptual impact, portfolio cohesiveness, and aesthetic qualities; alternative / experimental and underrepresented artists are especially encouraged to apply. Read all guidelines before applying; reading several published essays beforehand is highly recommended. Email a CV, 3 image samples, and an artist website or online portfolio to editor@pointpleasantpublishing.net. There is no application fee. Selected artists must either donate $35 or purchase any current paperback edition. Alternative contribution options are $100 for one copy of the hardcover volume in which the artist appears, with free expedited shipping; $170 for two hardcover copies, with free expedited shipping and 15% savings off the listed price; or $300 for four hardcover copies, with free expedited shipping and 25% savings off the listed price. Every essay is published in print and online regardless of the selected artist's contribution level. Applying or agreeing to participate grants Michael Athanasius Hanna and Point Pleasant Publishing representatives permission to use images from the artist's online portfolio and art in digital and print publications and promotions. No royalty fees or other financial compensation are paid for that usage. Artists retain copyright. Artists who do not agree must email the publisher to decline participation.
