47th Annual Open Juried Show

Ridgewood Art Institute's in-person juried exhibition for original, two-dimensional traditional realism. The exhibition runs February 14–March 14, 2027, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. More than $10,000 in merchandise and cash awards will be offered, including a conditional $2,000 grand prize.

Traditional realism

Open to artists age 18 or older. Entries must be original two-dimensional traditional realism; sculpture, photography, digital art, collage, crafts, and AI-generated work are prohibited. Artists may submit no more than two entries, and only one painting may be accepted. Work must not exceed 44 inches on its longest framed dimension, must have been completed within the last three years, and must not have appeared in a previous RAI Juried Show. Class, workshop, supervised, copied, or otherwise non-original work is ineligible, and artists may be asked for proof of creation. Artwork must be framed, wired, and ready to hang; watercolor, pastel, pencil, and ink must be under glass or Plexiglas, with Plexiglas mandatory for works over 20 by 30 inches. Accepted work must remain for the full exhibition. Entry fees are $50 for one entry or $65 for two and are nonrefundable. Submit high-quality JPEG/JPG images; images should be at least 1,500 pixels on the longest edge, no larger than 30 MB, and cropped to exclude matting, frames, and background. Accepted local work must be delivered to the venue on February 6, 2027, from 8:30 AM to noon. Shipped work must arrive January 29–February 4, 2027; a $30 handling fee applies unless an eligible commercially manufactured strong box is used, and a prepaid return label is required. Work may be offered for sale or marked not for sale; RAI receives a 25% donation from sales.
