2028 Exhibition Gallery Application

Lanesboro, MN

AFT Curated

The opportunity

Lanesboro Arts invites visual artists to propose bodies of work for a juried solo or group exhibition in its Exhibition Gallery. The gallery typically presents five exhibitions annually, each lasting approximately eight weeks. Although the page is titled as a 2028 application, it states that the current application window is for exhibitions taking place in 2027. Artwork need not be offered for sale; artists receive 60% of the retail price for works that sell.

About this call

Bodies of work that enrich artists and the community through discussion and connection, demonstrating a unique vision, original voice, quality craftsmanship, diversity, and accessibility.

Requirements

Open to visual artists working in traditional or contemporary visual-arts media. Applicants must provide a proposed-exhibition title and description of at least 4–6 sentences, a current artist statement of at least 4–6 sentences, and three representative digital images or photographs. Images must be 300 dpi at approximately 4 by 5 inches and supplied as .eps, .tif, or .jpg files; Dropbox or Google Drive links may be used, with Google Drive folders shared publicly. Applicants must list each submitted work's title, year, medium, size, and retail price. Optional artist-statement videos must be no longer than one minute. Applications are incomplete until images are received. Accepted artists must exhibit work similar to the samples reviewed by the jury. Generative-AI-created artwork is not accepted, and applicants must affirm that they created the submitted work without generative AI. Online applications are strongly preferred, but hard-copy applications may be requested and video applications may be emailed to gallery@lanesboroarts.org with the subject line “Gallery Application.” Artwork is not required to be for sale; for sold work, the artist receives 60% of retail and Lanesboro Arts retains 40%. Each exhibition runs for approximately eight weeks. The page is labeled for 2028 but expressly says the current application window concerns exhibitions taking place in 2027.
