2027 International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) Poster Contest

CREF’s annual poster-design contest invites entrants to create an original poster promoting the benefits of compost and the 2027 ICAW theme. The overall winner receives a conditional $500 prize, and the winning design is reproduced and distributed nationally. All Paths Lead to Compost!

Open worldwide to high school students, college students, and adults, with one entry permitted per person; the separate Bookmark Contest is for children in Grades K–9. Submit original artwork only; AI-generated designs are prohibited. The poster must include “All Paths Lead to Compost!”, “International Compost Awareness Week,” and “May 2–8, 2027.” Entrants using a photograph must have taken it or hold legal usage rights, and a signed release is required for any depicted person, with a parent or guardian signing for a subject under 18. Personal or corporate information, product endorsements, and copyrighted or trademarked products, packaging, brands, or advertisements are disallowed. All submissions become CREF property and may be used commercially; entries are not returned. The winner must resubmit the design at higher resolution.
