2026 - New-Gotta keep Politics and Art Going but now adding In-Gallery Show
Hosted by Las Laguna Art Gallery
Laguna Beach, CA
The opportunity
Las Laguna Art Gallery invites political artwork in any medium, style, or political perspective for an online exhibition and juried selection for an in-gallery exhibition in Laguna Beach, November 5–30, 2026. The gallery is reviewing previously accepted online work alongside new submissions; artists whose work was already selected for the earlier online show do not need to reapply. Artists selected for the physical exhibition may choose online-only participation instead. There are no monetary awards; artwork may be offered for sale.
About this call
Politics and Art
Requirements
Accepts all political viewpoints, styles, and media, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, alcohol ink, digital art, mixed media, collage, sculpture, textiles, fiber art, ceramics, glass, illustration, jewelry, new media, video, and combinations of media. AI-assisted digital artwork is allowed if disclosed in the artwork description. The Q&A states there are no painting-size or creation-date limitations. Submission Requirements specify 1–5 pieces, a maximum of 15 entries per artist, JPG files, and a maximum of 50MB per image; the Phase 1 narrative separately describes submitting 1–3 pieces with at least one selected for the online gallery. Entry is $35 for up to five images. The source also states there are no fees for artwork in the online exhibition. Additional wall fees apply if selected for the physical exhibition, but the source provides conflicting schedules: Instructions list maximum sizes of 12 inches/$35, 20 inches/$45, 30 inches/$50, and 40 inches/$70; Terms & Conditions list 12 inches/$25, 20 inches/$35, 30 inches/$40, and 40 inches/$60. Fees for work larger than 40 inches are discussed individually. Artists may opt for online-only participation to avoid wall rent and shipping fees without additional switching costs. The stated submission deadline is October 24, 2026; calendar links encode the cutoff as October 25, 2026 at 06:59 UTC. Notifications of online or in-gallery acceptance will be emailed October 25 or 26. Selected physical work must be delivered by October 31; local artists may drop off November 2. Ship to Las Laguna Art Gallery, c/o Lori McBride, 25887 Crown Valley Pkwy apt 2234, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677; no signature is needed. Local gallery drop-off must be arranged by texting Lori at 949-505-0950. Ship via UPS or FedEx in a sturdy, reusable cardboard box with a completed return shipping label; work must be wire-ready to hang. The gallery will not hang work without the return label and hanging wire, and does not accept loose stamps, checks, cash, or PayPal to arrange return shipping. No wooden crates, boxes with screws, or packing peanuts; avoid excessive wrapping. Work is returned during the two weeks following the exhibition. Work left seven days after closing incurs $5 per day storage; work left more than 14 days may be sold or disposed of without notification or recourse. The gallery disclaims liability for shipping, unpacking, loss, or damage while work is in its care; artists must obtain their own insurance if desired. There is one display area for small sculptures, and some artists provide their own pedestal. Sale proceeds are split 65% to the artist and 35% to the gallery under the agreement and a later Q&A correction; an earlier Q&A answer reverses that split. There are no monetary awards. Artists set retail prices inclusive of gallery commission and should consult Lori before changing prices. Work unavailable for immediate sale may be listed NFS. Artists grant the gallery the right to represent accepted artwork for sale, including eventual sales arising from gallery introductions during the exhibition, and must provide requested documents or information supporting sales. The gallery determines payment terms; artist proceeds from cash or bank-card sales are paid within 31 days. Artists outside the United States bear exchange-rate and bank-transfer charges. Artists retain ownership until sale and retain copyright in perpetuity. All entrants grant the gallery permission to use or publish artwork images to promote exhibitions, future calls, videos, and the gallery, including online and social-media publication; artwork may be photographed for promotional or other purposes. Agreement modifications must be written and signed by both parties.
