18th Annual Lottery for the Arts

Blue Line Arts invites artists to submit original artwork for its juried Lottery for the Arts fundraiser and gallery display. Every selected work will be donated to Blue Line Arts and offered through the lottery, subsequent event bidding, or a one-week silent auction. Juried artists receive a one-year 2027 artist-directory listing and online exposure. Award opportunities include solo-show offers for the juror’s first-, second-, and third-place selections, a $100 First Pick Award, a $100 Board Choice Award, and the possibility of selection for a 2028 solo exhibition; these conditional awards are not guaranteed participant compensation.

No theme requirement.

Applicants must be artists in the United States and at least 18 years old. Submit an original artwork or limited-edition archival print valued at least $350, completed within the last two years and not previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts. Submit at least one and no more than three artwork images; an artist statement is optional. Images must be JPG files between 1 MB and 3 MB, with at least 1200 pixels on one side. Selected artwork is a 100% donation, becomes Blue Line Arts property for use during the fundraiser, and carries no commission agreement. Accepted entries cannot be withdrawn or sold outside the exhibition before its closing date, must match the submitted image, and must be for sale. Two-dimensional work must arrive ready to hang with wire; sawtooth hangers are prohibited. Work must fit through doors with 94-inch-high by 91-inch-wide clearance; gallery ceilings are 10 feet high. Artists must install work weighing over 75 pounds, and no heavy machinery is available for installations. Shipped work is due February 5, 2027; hand delivery is February 14–15 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. If work remains unclaimed after the silent auction, the artist may leave it as a tax-deductible donation or arrange return shipping at the artist’s expense.
